VCA alumna Kitty Green (BFTV 2007) was arrested by Belarusian KGB agents while shooting her first feature film Ukraine is not a Brothel, revealing the truth behind topless Ukrainian feminist protesters Femen. The film has now been selected to premiere at the prestigious Venice Film Festival. The film is co-produced by fellow alum Michael Latham (BFTV 2008) and Jonathan auf der Heide (BFTV 2007). Pathways scholarships open

The VCA & MCM is offering two professional development programs for recent graduates, funded by the State Government through Arts Victoria. The Professional Pathways Scholarships are worth $25,000 each and will be awarded to seven projects undertaken collaboratively by a Victorian not-for-profit arts organisation and a recent VCA & MCM graduate. The one-year Graduate Mentorships will provide project funding of $25,000 to four recent VCA & MCM graduates who are making their way in the professional arts world and want to work with a mentor.

The Windsor Art Award and $10,000 scholarship were presented to VCA PhD candidate, artist Celeste Chandler, at a gala party in the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Windsor last night. The artwork “Lovesick” located in the hotel’s classic dining room at 111 Spring Street was a reflection of the ‘masks’ we wear when in a public space. Read More
