You are invited to a special public seminar led by Dean Merlino, Coordinator Teaching and Learning, Community Cultural Development Graduate Program.
Two presentaters, Efterpi Soropos and Loketi Latu will consider future movements in community-based arts practice.
The world turns, communities emerge, practice expands. In a changing world community practice is forever at risk of simplifying the social spaces that we navigate. Yet what does it mean for practice to work on the margins of these definitions? The Centre for Cultural Partnerships welcomes you to a seminar about Practice on the Edge of Community. We will explore the capacity for practitioners to work with new and hybrid spaces. Efterpi Soropos will discuss her practice in the community of palliative care institutions, while Loketi Latu will discuss working within the simultaneity of multiple (hybrid) Pacific Island communities.
